RETROVERSE 90

What is RETROVERSE 90?
An insert effect that gives any track a 1990s production character: warm sampler grit, tape saturation and wobble, lush chorus, micro-pitch detune, mono-safe width, and atmospheric reverb and echo. Put it on keys, synths, pads, vocals, guitar, bass, strings or drum loops, then start from one of seven character modes or 14 factory presets.
What DAWs does it support?
RETROVERSE 90 is built as VST3 and Audio Unit plugins plus a standalone app, so it is designed for hosts that load those formats. Hands-on testing is still under way, and the compatibility table on the product page shows exactly what has been checked.
Is it compatible with FL Studio?
Yes. It has been tested in FL Studio 21 on macOS, using the Audio Unit version, where it loaded, processed audio and the interface worked. A Windows test build has also been tried in FL Studio 2025 on one PC.
Is it compatible with Logic Pro?
Logic Pro uses the Audio Unit version, which passes Apple's AU validation tool. It has not yet been tested inside Logic Pro itself. This answer will be updated once it has.
Is it available for Windows and macOS?
RETROVERSE 90 is being prepared for macOS, and Windows is in testing. A Windows build runs on Windows 11 in testing, but it is not available yet, so please do not buy expecting a Windows version until this page says it is ready.
Is the purchase a one-time payment?
Yes. RETROVERSE 90 is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
How do I install the plugin?
On macOS, place RETROVERSE 90.vst3 in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ and RETROVERSE 90.component in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/, then rescan plugins in your DAW. A signed installer is planned to handle this for you.
How do I receive updates?
Updates throughout version 1 are free.
How does the license work?
Your order includes a serial number. Paste it into the plugin once and it activates on that computer, with no internet connection or account needed. Until it is activated, audio passes through unprocessed.
Can I use it on multiple computers?
Yes. Your licence covers one person on up to 3 computers.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, with no reason needed. See the Refund Policy.
How do I contact support?
Email support@butzaudio.com. It covers installation, compatibility and order questions.

PUNCH

What is PUNCH?
A sidechain low-end processor. It helps your kick and bass share the low end by ducking one for the other at the frequencies where they clash, and it shows you each dip on a live screen.
Do I need to set up a sidechain?
Yes for the main job, because PUNCH needs to hear both the kick and the bass. Four factory presets for drums need no sidechain.
Does it work on one track or on a bus?
Both. On one track, PUNCH sits on the bass or the kick and hears the other through the sidechain. In Bus Mode, one PUNCH carries both signals. Bus Mode still needs them on two separate inputs, because a kick and bass already mixed into one signal can't be pulled apart cleanly.
What DAWs does it support?
PUNCH is built as VST3 and Audio Unit plugins. So far, sidechain use on one track has been tried by hand in FL Studio on a Mac, and the compatibility table on this page shows exactly what has been checked.
Is it available for Windows and macOS?
PUNCH is being prepared for macOS. Windows is planned and is not available yet.
Is the purchase a one-time payment?
Yes. PUNCH is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Can I use it on multiple computers?
Yes. Your licence covers one person on up to 3 computers.
How do I receive updates?
Updates throughout version 1 are free.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, with no reason needed. See the Refund Policy.
